Remembering January 12, 2010

Today makes it one year since the earthquake in Haiti. My mother and many of my family members reside in Haiti. I don't watch the news, So I didn't know about it till later in the day when the Babe's grandmother called to tell me what had happen. I was really calmed at first. Then I was unable to reach my mother. That's when I started to lose it. I was scared for her and my love ones. My heart went out to all the people that lost their live that day. Those who lost their loved ones. My heart still goes out to the ones, till these day, that are experiencing hardship. The worst feeling would be the sense of hopelessness I felt during the early days after the earthquake. Wanting to DO something but knowing I'm lacking in so many ways. Sure I sent money to my family. But the little I sent seems to pale in comparison to the amount I should have be sending...

The earthquake made me realize just how important my mother is to me. Even though I have not seen her since I was 6 years old, I love her with all my heart and I am able to speak with her as if we have never been apart for all those years. I hope to be able to bring her to live with me one day. That is my goal.

Kinder Surprise ^^

I buy these for the Kid all the time. He doesn't care much for the toy and he will only eat half the egg and on those rare occasions, he'll share the other half with me (if not he just crumples it up on the ground and waits for me to clean it)...Joy!!

To do list

I wrote down some of the things I needed to get done tonight before I go to bed.
  • Cooking + pack lunches for work
  • Fold clothes and put them away
  • Vacuum The Kid's room
  • Wash hair
  • Tidy living room (thanks Babe for the mess)
  • Mop floor
I was able to get ONE thing done...and that's cooking. True is, I wasn't in the mood to do anything today. I woke up late got food ready. Got driven bonkers by the Kid and the Babe, then I thought to myself, I need to vent!!! So I signed up for blogger. I spent 2 hours tying to figure out how this "blogging" thing works...Arrrg this week is going to be LONG...*Sigh* Well it is getting late, time for a shower. I promised the Babe some nooky tonight.

seriously?

Who buys milk that will expire the next day?! I'll tell you who, The Babe, that's who.

The moment I saw this painting , I thought of my father.
I have this memory from when I was just a small child.
My father and mother were separated and I had gone to my dad’s house for a sleep over.
I remember waking up being really hungry but not having any food to eat.
Being a child and all I asked for food (knowing there wasn’t any )…then my dad got really sad and had tears running down his face. I really don’t know why this memory stayed with me for so long…but it did.
And this painting brought that memory back. I really love it.

Date Night with the Babe

The Babe also knows as the Boyfriend, and I went to the movies last night. Before that we stopped at our favorite place, Nickels, for some chow. I usually get steak but the one I want cost freaking 25$----way too much...so I went for chicken and ribs *drool*. The Babe always get the same thing...a burger (lame)...Anyways after chowing down our grub, we went and saw Tron Legacy. I never saw the first one...but I thought the movie was pretty good. Plus we did get to see it in 3D!! =D
